“We are grounded in care, shaped by lived experience, and rooted in a vision of collective healing.”
At The Rooted Wellness Institute™, everything we do is guided by the belief that healing is both individual and collective in nature. Our work is shaped by the voices and needs of the communities we serve, and it’s informed by a deep commitment to creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to reclaim their wellness.
What Grounds Us
Our Vision
The Rooted Wellness Institute™ envisions a world where Black women and non-binary individuals, children, and families thrive in communities grounded in healing, joy, and collective care.
We aspire to be a trusted sanctuary that dismantles barriers to wellness, honors cultural traditions, and cultivates spaces where resilience and restoration flourish across generations.
Principles We’re Rooted In
These are the values that shape how we show up for individuals, families, and partners.
-
We believe that healing occurs in relationships, not isolation. Every space we create is built on trust, connection, and collective well-being.
-
We honor the lived experiences, histories, and identities of the communities we serve, centering voices and perspectives that are often underrepresented in wellness spaces.
-
Wellness should be accessible to everyone. We design our programs to minimize barriers—whether financial, cultural, or emotional—so that all participants feel welcomed and supported.
-
Our approach acknowledges trauma, affirms resilience, and prioritizes emotional safety. We hold space with care, reflection, and intentionality.
-
We view joy as an essential part of the healing process. Our programs intentionally create space for laughter, creativity, rest, and moments of celebration.
-
As our work expands, we remain reflective and responsive, ensuring that growth aligns with community needs, participant voices, and our mission of advancing wellness in historically underserved spaces.
The Meaning Behind Our Name
We chose the name The Rooted Wellness Institute™ with intention and care. Being “rooted” reflects our belief that healing begins with connection—to ourselves, to each other, and to the cultural histories that shape who we are.
For Black women and Black communities, roots carry deep significance, symbolizing resilience, legacy, and collective strength. Our work honors that lineage by creating spaces where healing is both individual and communal. Like the roots of a tree, our programs are designed to honor that legacy while creating new spaces for growth, reflection, and healing.
As we grow, these roots will continue to ground our mission while allowing us to reach more communities.
Our roots are strong—and we invite you to grow with us.
